Welcome to the Jeanie Drucker Gallery
Hi! My name is Jeanie Drucker. I’ve been painting as long as I can remember. Looking back at my childhood I remember painting pictures on the bathroom walls for which I got spankings. One time, in the second grade, a visiting art teacher came to our class and all I remember was painting a large mural sized scene of a Chinese Emporer’s palace with a beautiful bridge leading to the mountains in the background. The strange thing was I was the only one painting while everyone else looked on in amazement. The very next day my parents received a phone call from this teacher, stating she felt I was gifted and should be encouraged, and they did.
By the age of 21, I had three years of formal art training at Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, Va. Later I changed my major to nursing because of my love for people. After graduating from the University of South Carolina with a B.S.N. I worked for a number of years as a nurse. Then I married a Vietnam War hero and then we moved back home to Charleston where I was born. The purpose of this move was to help my in-laws with their small brass business in the historical market. Surrounded by all of this natural beauty made me realize my true destiny as an artist.
When I married Floyd D. Johnson in 2008 I found a powerful partner who inspired the development of my small art business. We expanded and opened up Off Market Arts in July 2014 and has become very successful. I am the proud mother of a son named David Alan Drucker who also participates in our small family business.
